A Very Special THANK YOU to all artists who submitted designs to The Trail of Painted Ponies 2024 Competition: From Fine Art to Collectibles. We received many outstanding and unique designs and are very grateful such a fantastic group of talented artists shared their imagination with us. Competition winners will be announced in November 2024, after much careful review, so please stay tuned.

To celebrate the end of the 2024 Competition, this is “Flamingo Dancer” by artist Michele Dischino. Here is the story behind this design: “I’m no stranger to winter, but I wish I could be. To get through the long, cold and colorless New England winters, I like to surround myself with tropical-themed décor year-round. Flamingos are my favorite animal due to their beautiful, bright coloring and fondness for warm climates, which I can really relate to. My Flamingo Dancer’s design was inspired by traditional Flamenco attire, which may or not be related to the name of the bird according to what I was able to research online. However, both are brightly colored, and a flamingo’s courtship display is arguably similar to the emotionally intense Flamenco dance, where passion is expressed through movement.”
